REPRISALS.

As a reprisal for the murder of Inspector Wilson, police and soldiers burned and wrecked a considerable portion of Tempiemere. Armed with bombs, firearms and petrol, they destroyed the Town Hail, a number of grocery and drapery shops, and the markets. . A number of creameries scattered about the countryside were destroyed by fire. Inspector Wilson, of the Irish Constabulary, was shot dead when leaving a shop at Tempiemere, Tipperary, CALL TO STRIKE SINN FEIN CIRCULAR. LONDON, Aug. 17. A Sinn Fein circular, distributed in Manchester, Liverpool, and elsewhere in Lancashire, summoning every Irishman to prepare to strike for freedom, declared; “For to-day England is on the verge of revolution.” P.P.A. RESOLUTIONS MESSAGES FROM AUCKLAND. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 19. A meeting nnder the auspices of the P.P.A. at the Town Hall resolved to forward the following motion to Mr Lloyd George: “That this meeting of over three thousand Protestants, and on behalf of 350,000 Protestants of New Zealand, urge you to effectively deal with the Sinn Fein, and to treat Dr Mannix as a rebel and a traitor, and to maintain the solidarity of the British Empire.” A further resolution supported the firm attitude of Mr Hughes in deporting Father Jerger, and dealing firmly with disloyalists such as Dr Mannis.
