PACIFIC TERRITORIES MANDATE. Received August 19, 10.30 a.m. MELBOURNE, August 19. In the House of Representatives, Mr Cook announced tliat an administrator was being appointed in Newcastle or Sydney to control coal transport with the- object of diverting all Maitland coal to inter-State channels, leaving other districts for export trade. Mr Cook introduced a Bill providing for the acceptance of the mandate over Pacific territories. Mr Cunningham moved an amendment providing that the projxised Government be in accordance with a '‘White Autralia” policy. Mr Cook explained that the amendment could be moved at a later stage, but Labour insisted on a division, and the amendment was defeated.
