COAL SUPPLIES.
CONTROLLING THE DISTRIBUTION. PERMITS MAY BE ISSUED. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 4. In order to enable the • Coal Trade Committees to have a closer control over coal from the supplier to the householders and to secure an equitable distribution, amended regulations have, stated the Hon. Mr Myers to-day, been approved of by Cabinet and gazetted providing that not more than 10 cwt. of coal snail be delivered to any one person at any one time and not mere than one ton in any "one period of 28 days, in place of one and two tons respectively as previously provided. Power is also provided in this regulation for the Minister in charge by notice in the Gazette to declare that any area or areas specified, no coal shall he delivered without a permit issued by the Coal Trade Committee controlling the area concerned. The latter regulation is being brought into operation in Wellington as from Monday next, and it is hoped will enable the Wellington Coal Trade Committee to exercise a stricter control over the distribution, especially in regard to domestic supplier.
