ADVOCATE OF LAWLESSNESS

SENT TO GAOL.

(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 8,

William.., Parker, was charged before Mr Frazer, S.M., to-day, with having in his possession for distribution documents headed “Labour unrest and the lockout,” which documents advocated lawlessness contrary to the War Regulations. One leaflet advocated a strike of the workers, Chief-Detective Bod dam stated that a large number of leaflets had been distributed in Wellington and some had got as far as Christchurca. Chief-Detective Boddam added that Parker admitted that he had had the leaflets printed to his order, and that he denied nothing. In a long sneceh from the dock, accused spoke of parasites who fed on workers, and ho showed no respect for the Court. As he had been convictetd in 1913 for seditious utterances, Mr Frazer sentenced him to 12 months’ hard labour.
