A return of business done in the Magistrate's Court at Wanganui for the quarter ended September 30, 1917, showed that there were 66 sitting days, at which the Stipendiary Magistrate presided over 32 and J'e.P. 34. Out of a total of 228 oases,'2l3 were heard by the Magistrate and 15 by a J.P. In accordance with a request from the Minister of Internal Affairs, next Sunday will be set apart as a day of National Prayer in connection with the war.
