WANGANUI CENTRE’S ANNUAL MEETING. ' * The annual meeting of the Wanganui centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association was held last night, Mr. H. W. Cooper presiding. The annual report stated:In presenting the annual, report the Centre congratulates the swimmers on the splendid response to the call of the Empire. At the game time ; t regrets the loss of some of ombest swimmers, amongst -whom are L. C. Armstrong (killed in action), and C. E. Neweonibe (reported miss, ing), both of whom , were valued member;! of the centre prior to leaving for the front. The Centre was represented at the N.Z. championship meeting at Napier, but was unable to secure a championship. The West Coast championships were held at Marlon by the Marlon Club, fn conjunction with the visit of.Oujje Kahaupmoku, and the meeting.'war a gloat success. The N.Z.‘Council is arranging an honours board of all swimmers "who have gone to the w:r. and the Centre takes this opportunity to ask the various clubs to send to tho secretary a list of all the members who have gene, ami (o keep him posted with others as they go.
