'Hie chairman reported on matters in conuection with the recent flooded condition of the river, and estimated the damage to the works as being £971 16s. The Government had beeu approached for assistance, and a sum of £SOO had been granted out of unauthorised expenditure. £IOOO was on the Estimates for river improvement works, of which £250 had been anticipated, and £250 allocated for repairs and additions to plant. It was pointed out that owing to probable extraordinary expenditure owing to flood damage, the sum at the disposal of the Trust was insufficient for maintainence and improvement works, and it was decided that Mr AV. A. A’eitch, M.P., with the chairman, should wait on the Premier with a view of having a further sum placed cu tho supplementary estimates. DOMAIN BOARD. Present: The same members as River Trust.
