ECHO OF THE BAXTER TRAGEDY
(Per United Press' Association.) Wellington, April 3. . W;. R. Baxter, of Invercargill, who assaulted his, wife and live children and then committed suicide in 1908, loft his estate to his wife, who, with the children, died. It on Phyllis Baxter. After paying debts and mortgages tho estate realised £9, but there was a life policy of £4O, which was held under a marriage settlement, the terms of which cannot be found. To-day the Public Trustee made application to tho Supremo Court for direction, and was ordered to hold the money for six months, make enquiries in England, and make a fresh application.
