AN INTERESTING JUDGMENT.

(Per United Press Association.) MASTEETON, March 31. A decision affecting athletic bodies was given in.the Supreme Court this afternoon by the Chief Justice. Some months ago footballers at Pongaroa held a smoke conosit, at which alcoholic liquor was dispensed. Admission to the concert was 2s (id for members and 5s for non-memhsrs. Charles Erickson, as a member of the football club, was charged with having supplied liquor to one Percy Kent, who did •not pay for admission, but lent his piano for the occasion. 1 Erickson was convicted by Magistrate Eeid of selling liquor, and was fiiied 20s and costs. Against this decision the club appealed. The Chief Justice supported the finding of the Magistrate, and dismissed the appeal with £5 5s costs.
