CABLE FROM HIGH COMMISSIONER (Per OnitoH Press Association.) •WELLINGTON. April 27. Tlio commerce division of the Department of Agriculture received a cablegram from tho High Commissioner, dated 26th April, regarding the opening of the third series of colonial wool sales. The message roads:—The "wool sales opened with a large attendance of Home and Continental buyers, but Americans arc holding off. The market was strong for merinos and fine crossbreds at Jd higher, but was quieter for medium crossbreds at unchanged prices, and for coarse crossbreds at Id lower than the closing rates of last sales. The New Zealand wool catalogued for the series amounts to 107,300 bales.
