The Duty on « Woldon't."
(Per United Tress Association). DtiNiiDlN, November 13. Booksellers are forwarding a protest to the Minister of Customs against the duty on Weldon's Ladies' Journals. It is alleged that the Journal is mainly lused by mothers of families and for home dressmaking, and the duty will consequently be a tax upon the dissemination of useful knowledge. The selling price has gone up from fourpence to ninepence in consequence of the duty and the sale has been practically killed.
