THE LAND BILL

In Oommltt««. (By Our Parliamentary Special.) , (By Telegraph.) WELLINGTON, September 21. With talk of breach of privilege in the air, and a Committee sworn to secrecy, it is difficult and dangerous to say anything authentic about the •roasting" which the Land Bill is said to be getting before the fifteen g:>od men and true, with Mr. T, Y. I>uncan at their head. It is alleged in the lobbies that a proposal to insert an option in the renewable leasing clause was defeated by one vote, but the public will have to form its own conclusions as to the reliability of this statement. It is understood, however, that the Committee have got as far as clause 10, and may be able to report to the House by the end of next week.
