HOCKEY.

The District High School hockey team met and defeated a town team yesterday afernoon by 5 goals to 1. For the school, who showed much better form than their opponents, Spurdle scored 4 goals and Scrivener one. The score for the losers was notched by Goldsbury. It was pleasing to note the manner in which the school team, which is composed mostly of "new chums," completely outclassed their opponents, of whom a large majority are experienced players.

We understand that a movement is afoot to form an association of the old members of the Alexandra Mounted Rifles formerly the Alexandra Cavalry, to be composed of those borne on the roll of the corps prior to ten years back. It is hoped to hold a re-union, in the shape of a shooting match, on Farihaka Day (November sth).
