HIGHLAND RIFLES.

The following are the handicaps for the eighth competition for the Company Belt and A and U Challenge Cups; ranges 500 and 600 yards. B class shots will five seven shots at 500 yards only, to be fired for on Thursday and Saturday next at 1.30 p.m. each day: — A Class — Captain McNaught and Private A. Druminond sch., Sergt. Cunningham and Private E. Gordon 5 points, Sergt. Gibbons 7, Sergt. Chisholm 10, Corporal Ross, and Privates Hughes and F. Gnnn 14. B. Class — Private Mcgonaglo seh., Corpl. Armstrong 2 points, Private W. Gunn 5, Private Weston 6, Privates Lambert and Boyle 8; remainder of Company 10. Members of the Social Committee and Council will meet at the Drill Hall on Friday evening next at 8 o'clock for urgent and important business. A full attendance of both is requested.

The following are the remaining shooting fixtures for this nioiiih for ail corps, and fixtures for June: — Thursday ajid Saturday, 17th and 19th, 500 and 600 yds; Thursday and Saturday, 24th and 2(ith, 200 and 600 yds; Thursday and Saturday, 31st and June 2, cancelled owing to General Babington's inspection on tho afternoon of the 31st.
