Unfair and Misleading Statements.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, — The Prohibition Party, which consists mainly, by the way, of ministers of the Gospel, and who should therefore be above such tactics, are persistently informing the public when canvassing for their votes that if No-license is carried i f docs not mean prohibition, thus knowingly leading thorn to believe that they can still obtain their two-gallon lots, of ale i-v spirits locally. Now they know full well that such is not the case, and that if Nolicense is carried here all wholesale licenses will lapse, and breweries will not be permitted to sell in this district. Aj&o, that if any person sends away for^lqicr such person must ■send his or her i.arao to the Custom-house, with partie il irs of order sent away, for police inspeijii.'i. dc. I trust you will give this matter eveiy publicity, as many voters are quite misinformod. and apparently wilfully so. on the subject. — I am, etc.,
TBHIF.
