A Fact.

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, — I notice the Chronicle this morning devotes a loading article to an endeavour to secure Mr Bassett's return to Parliament, and. as evidence of the great chance of victory that gentleman is supposed to have, quotes Mr Seddon's remarks to the Liberals at Aram oho: "I'll tell j r ou what j'ou will havo, you'll have Basselt !" Mr Seddon certainly did say that, but why did not the Chronicle also repeal what the great bulk of the people at the Araraoho meeting- sang- out in answer to tho Premier? Their, cry, and it made a groat impression on the Chronicle representative at the time, as it did upon many others, was "We'll have- Hogan !" And the jrcoplo it is who will decide the question next Wednesday. — I am, etc.,

WORKER.
