ASHBURTON AND NO-LICENSE.

(Per United Press Association.)

ASHBURTON, November 25.

At a public meeting last night it was resolved that this meeting declares as followg:— -The No-License vote took effect in Ashburton electorate on July Ist, 1903, but liquor-selling in the Ashburton Club continued lawful till July Ist, 1905. The Ashburton electorate therefore had two years' partial local prohibition of * the sate of liquor, and six months' complete local prohibition of such sale. The experience has been" so satisfactory as to abundantly warrant the Ashburton electors in voting at the forthcoming poll, against the restoration of licenses, and the electors of the colony generally in voting for No-License; and confidently commends to them the adoption of the policy. •
