WANGANUI SAILING CLUB.
OPENING RACE ON NOVEMBER 9th. The following 'kntriss were last night received for the above club's opening race on Thursday, Novtmber 9: — P. C. Price's Clipper IT., H. P. Lewis and Co.'s Sandy Hook and Dottrell (th? new boat n:entioned in a previous issue, now on her way from Auckland), Or. Ambross's Eric, Stringer and Cq.'o Bonito, Crane BrosM:iureen, J. E. Glover's Arawa, E. Perrett's Nyoola, Dodgslmn and Co.'s Omipere. The handicaps for tlic above will appear in our issue of Saturday. The committee cordially mvits all owners of launches and pleasure boats, as well as membcis of rovviiio- and «v\imming clubs to be present, in order to mak? th* opening a thoroughly successful one. The first prize for the race will be Mi J. B. Murray's special trophy. We are glad to hear that the canvassers for prize money for the Carnival race are meeting with encouraging success. Contributions may be forwarded to the< secretary, llr B. O. Hodgson.
