Remarkably Changeable In Hawke's Bay District. {Per United .Press Association.) NAPIEE, November 25. The weather haß been remarkably changeable during the last forty-eight hours. Thero was a broiling hot day on Saturday, succeeded yesterday by a perfect blizzard, snow falling very low on the ranges. This morning there were heavy showers of rain, accompanied at intervals by hail. A good downpour of ra,in is badly needed all through the district. The crops in some parts are coming to the oar, with only about six inches of growth. , Welcome Rain at Cheviot. More Cheerful Tone Throughout the Settlement. Further Earth Tremors. - CHRISTCHURCH, November 25. Welcome rain fell at Cheviot last night, and a more cheerful tone is evident throughout the settlement. Slight tremors occured last night, and severe shocks on Saturday night and on Sunday morning. The coach leaving Cheviot this morning was again orowded with women and children. Captain Edwin wired at 12.35 to-day: Strong south to east and north-east winds; glass rise; tides moderate: weather colder.
