THE FAY COMPTON CASE

JUDGMENT FOR CORPORATION. (Received Friday, 11.0 a.m.) LONDON, Thursday. The Golders’ Green Hippodrome, Limited, sought damages from the British Broadcasting Corporation for alleged “injurious falsehood.” Counsel said that while Miss Fay Compton was appearing at the Hippodrome the Broadcasting Corporation advertised her as participating in two performances of a radio play, whereas actually it was a recording that was being broadcast. Judgment was given for the Broadcasting Corporation.
