TRANSPORT BOARD

SITTING AT MASTERTON. NEW SERVICES GRANTED. Applications for the renewal, amendment and transfer of licenses were granted by the No. 2 Transport Licensing Authority, Mr P. Skoglund, at a special sitting held in the Masterton Magistrate’s Court this morning. Messrs A. Orton and P. C. Fitzgerald represented the Railway Department, Mr J. M. Laing the Wairarapa Licens--ed Transport Federation, while Mr H.‘ J. Knight and Mr S. V. Gooding appeared for various applicants. The following new goods, licenses were granted: —B. C. Spring, Eketahuna; E. S. Fargher, Pleckville; F. Schormann, Eketahuna; W. Hansen, Carterton. Applications for amendments to goods services were approved as follows: —J. F. Clcghorn, Paliiatua; E. O. Pearcey, Pahiatua; G. E. O. Gleeson, Paliiatua; F. Dennes, Greytown. The following transfers of goods services licenses were granted: —H. U. Zillward to R. N. Nunn, Masterton; and F. D. J. Butcher to J. B. Mae Lean. The applications of Dillon and Mulvaney, Martinborough, for a new passenger service license, and M. Smith, Masterton, for an amendment to a passenger service license, granted, as well as an application for a transfer of the passenger service license from G. Brasell, senior, to G. Brasel, junior. The application of E. Goss, Eketahuna, for a new goods service license was adjourned until this afternoon.
