STUD SHEEP
SYDNEY SALES. ■ SYDNEY, Wednesday. Interest in the annual stud sheep sales remained unabated to-day, and the market was 15 to 20 per cent, better than at the opening of the series. Rams of good breeding had a firm inquiry. A feature of to-day’s catalogues was the combined offering of British breeds and 'Curriedales, for which there was excellent competition. On behalf of Mr A. Carr, of Goulburn, a Itomney Marsh ram lamb, grand champion of the recent show, was sold to Air D. Grant, of Timaru, New Zealand, for 30gns. Among the auction sales were the following:—l7 Border Leicester stud rams, on account of Mr Donald Grant, of Timaru, fetched £236/15/6, averaging £l3/18/6; four Border Leicester stud ewes, £2B/7/-, averaging £7/1/9; two Border Leicester ewe lambs, TBgns, averaging '9gns. On account of Mr W. O. Rennie, Canterbury, New Zealand, •five Border Leicester rams, at 3 to 4gns each. On account of Mr A. L. Wheeler, Marton, New Zealand, .fiftytwo 'Southdown ewes, averaging £5 13/3.
