Gentien (France) defeated von Kehrling (Hungary), 5/7,, 6/2, 6/8, 6/1, 7/5. Cochet (France) defeated Tuckey (Britain), 4/6, 6/2, 6/1, 6/4. Satoh (Japan) defeated Harris ('Britain), 6/3, 6/3, 7/5. Prenn (Germany), von Cramm (Germany), Mild (Japan), and de Stefani (Italy) entered the third round.
