The M.C.C. has accepted an invitation from the Indian Board of ‘Cricket Control to send a team to tour India, the draft itinerary covering four months, from 15th October to the end of February, providing 78 days’ cricket, including three Tests, at Delhi, Bombay and Secunderabad, in the Deccan. It is hoped in the near future to make arrangements by Avhich a tour from an Australian team can be arranged.

A particularly fine start was made by Auckland, due to the fine poening partnership of Mills and Postles, Avho put on 146. The next four Auckland batsmen scored consistently, Wliitelaw 46, Yivian 57, and Dacre 42, being all responsible for fine displays, the lastnamed giving a faultless, although restrained exhibition. At one stage Auckland had five wickets down for 340, but a debacle then commenced, and the side Avas all out for 366. The Wellington boAA r lers retained a fine length throughout, and kept the Auckland batsmen on the defensWe for the most part. NeAvman, especially, Avas a model of accuracy. lie finished Avith four Avielcets for 105 runs in 48 OA r ers, 22 of Avhich were maidens.
