DANNEVIRKE SHOW

Those who intend competing at the Danneirke A. and P. Association’s annual show on 7tli and Stli February next, are reminded that general entries close on Tuesday next, 24th January, any accepted as late entries being subjected to a special impost. Ladies competing in the home industries sections, including needlework, are requested to specially note that entries for these also close on the 24th, and not on the first day of the show, as in the past. The entries in the needlework classes for juveniles, however, close on the morning of the show. The dairy produce section has grown steadily into popularity with succeeding shows, and now includes eight classes, endowed with valuable prizes, besides three valuable cups, while a gold medal will be awarded to the competitor grading most points for one case of export cheese, one crate large coloured cheese, three loaf cheese, and one crate of cheese. Indications point, to this fine autumn show being well up to the high standard set in the past, and any who intend exhibiting in the wide range of classes and who have not already done so should make themselves conversant with that portion of the schedule in which they are interested. The Dannevirke Kennel Club will hold their annual show' in conjunction with the A. and P. Association, and its schedule (copies of which may be obtained on application) is as attractive, and comprehensive as ever it lias been, catering for all branches of the canine tribe. Though not officially under the auspices of the A. and P. Association, the famous airman, Sir iCharles Kingsford Smith, will arrive in Dannevirko on the first day' of the show in his famous Southern Gross, so that intending exhibitors and visitors to the show will be able to “kill more than one bird with one stone. ” Entries should be forwarded to P.O. Box 38, Dannevirke, without further delay.-. The annual ram fair takes place on Thursday, 9th February', and entries for this close on Saturday, :28th January, with the various associated brokers.
