WASHED OFF ROCKS
FARMER DROWNED. AUCKLAND, Friday. Another droAvning accident occurred on the Avest coast early this afternoon, when (Patrick Norton, a farmer, of Waimauku, aged 25, Avhile fishing off the rocks at Motutara, Avas AA'ashed off and droAvned. Mr Norton, a man named Daniells, and another companion, Avere fishing off the rocks at mid-day, when a breaker came in and carried all three out. They were soon struggling in a strong undertoAv. Daniells and the other man managed to fight their way back in an exhausted condition, but Norton Avas Avaslied out to sea and droAvned. —(P.A.)
