A comprehensive report making proposals for further economies in the operation of the Christchurch trams hfis been prepared by the general manager.

The deficit for the current year is expected to amount to £IO,OOO, and the report of the general manager reviews the whole system, and suggests measures which, if adopted, would avoid the necessity of a rate being struck.

The report deals fully with the pos sibilities of extending the use of one man cars and trolley buses on a mini bor of routes.
