COLLECTION OP BUTTERFLIES

Mr James John Joieev, who has just died was the possessor of the second largest private collection of butterflies in the world. It is reported that the number is 1,500,000. Mr Joicey had been spending from £7OOO to £IO,OOO annually, having agents in all parts of the world.
The collection was possible because Mr Joicey was the son of a millionaire, but the hobby once brought him to the bankruptcy court, where it was stated he was unable to live on £20,000 a year. He started bis hobby 40 years ago.
It is expected that the collection will he bequeathed to the nation.
