POLISH PLOTTING
HEAVY SENTENCES. (Received Thursday, 9.15 a.m.) WARSAW, Wednesday. Heavy sentences have been passed upon leaders of the Opposition’ arrested during the general election of 1930 for plotting against the PiTsudski regime.
Vincent Witos, the Populist leader and thrice Premier of Poland, was sentenced to eighteen months’ imprisonment; Hermann Liebermann, the. Socialist leader, to 24 years’;- and five others to two to three years’. • - The trial lasted two months. The results have caused consternation in political circles.
