A desperafe' action took place near Hsinlintun, where several thousand bandits attacked Japanese troops. Four Japanese officers and thirty soldiers were killed and the remainder wounded. Many parts of the city are burning.
A SERIOUS CLASH.

SHANGHAI, Wednesday,
A serious clash occurred with the Chinese military when over a hundred Japanese invaded- the office of the official newspaper “Minkuojipao,” at Tsingtao, and attacked the staff with knives and clubs. They also wrecked the machinery and set fire to the premises.
The attack was the result of the publication of an editorial deploring the fact that the recent attempt tfi assassinate the Japanese Emperor was unsuccessful. Several Chinese were wounded.
