Tho Inspector of Police at Invercargill received word from Edeiulale late to-night that two masked men, one carrying a. ride, entered the premises of the Bank of New South Wales there to-night. It was stated that the manager and I)is wife were in the kitchen, to which the intruders made their way. One is reported to have attacked the wife of the manager, and the other is belic\ ed to have held up the manager with a rifle, but apparently without success. A detachment of police was sent from here immediately on receipt of tho message. No further particulars are available.
