VESSEL A TOTAL LOSS.

CREW SAVED.

(Received Saturday, 9.10 a.m.)

SYDNEY, This Day.

A radio message has been received that the Bretagne, bound for Samoa from San Francisco, was a total ..loss, It is assumed that the crew are safe.

It is thought that the mysterious S.O.S. received by the Bluff radio station was from the ill-fated vessel. There is some doubt about the ship’s identity. Sfio may be a Danish motor ship of 3177 tons, or an auxiliary, schooner of 1028 tons, both of the same name. —A. and N.Z. P.A.
