YEARS OF FOUR-WHEEL BRAKE EXPERIENCE CRYSTALLISED IN NASH SYSTEM. Nash did not ask the public to do the experimenting with four wheel brakes. The Nash ideal is to be best rather than first. Already Nash has equipped Quad trucks with four wheel brakes and all that has been learned in the years of tjjeir development was applied to the solution of this new problem. Mr. C. W. Nash foresaw the weaknesses of systems that affected steering, needed constant adjustment and allowed unequal action. He believed that a perfect four wheel brake system would be evolved in time and to that end he persevered. He was aided by the results of exhaustive experimentation by leading European and American authorities. Eventually Nash Four Wheel Brakes were announced. Endorsement and appreciation came almost simultaneously. It was found that not only had complete equalisation been obtained but that Nash case-of-steering was, if anything, empahsised owing to slight but important alterations to allow for the new braking system and balloon tyres. Permanency of adjustment was secured through the use of 'exceptionally large braking surfaces. Simplicity was also most pronounced. The front brakes were of the internal expanding type and the rear brakes external contracting. The reason for this arrangement is that the result of the expansion of the l‘ear drums due to heat generated by persistent brake application is nullified by the opposite result, of expansion on the front drums. Thus Nash braking is maintained at the peak of its efficiency under all conditions of use. The absolute equalisation of brake application to all four wheels is assured by a simple arrangement of cross-shafts and an equaliser bar. Your Nash dealer will be glad to demonstrate this most important feature! Equally in other respects Nash is a leader among fine cars. This is a conviction that will grow on you when you have inspected the New Nash Advanced Six and Special Six 'Models. Sole local agent: Lyttle and Co., Ltd.
