HAWKE’S BAY TOURNEY.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) NAPIER, Tuesday.
At the Hawke’s Bay provincial tennis championship, E. D. Andrews (Palmerston North) will meet J. Powdrell (Wanganui) in the final of the men s singles. Misses Howott (England) and Maefarlane (Auckland) will contest the ladies’ final. Misses Maefarlane and Howett are likely winners of the ladies’ doubles, and J. Lowry and E. p. Andrews should have little difficulty inannexing the men’s doubles. The -finals and semi-finals will be played to-morrow.

Ringland, 6/4, 6/3.
HARD COURT TOURNAMENT. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The metropolitan hard court tourney reached the finals to-day. Mostly local players were engaged. Men’s Singles, final. —L. France beat G. Wilson, 6/3, 6/5. Doubles. —D. G. France (Christchurch) and C. F. Williams (Wellington) beat M. Lampo and A. Wheeler (Wanganui), 2/6, G/4, 6/0. Ladies’ Singles.—Miss North beat Mrs Parkinson, 6/1, 6/3. Ladies’ Doubles. —Miss E. Williams and Mrs Laurenson beat Misses Lucena and Turner, 4/6, 6/2, 6/1.
TARANAKI CHAMPIONSHIP. NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday. Inday Saunders, (Wanganui) won the Taranaki golf championship this afternoon, when he defeated F. Quinn (New Plymouth), 3 up and 2 to play. In the semi-finals this morning, Saunders beat H. P. Dale (Elt-ham), 1 up on the 19th. Quinn beat J. Harold (Wanganui), 1 np. WELLINGTON CHAMPIONSHIP. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Arthur Duncan ( Wellington) won the provincial golf championship after an interesting game with D. 0. Whyte in the final. The best aggregate gross score in the qualifying round was A. Duncan, with 149. T. H. Horton (Masterton) won the stroke handicap. MANAWATU CHAMPIONSHIP. PALMERSTON N., Tuesday. In the final of the amateur championship, G. Saunders (Feilding) defeated H. L. Young (Manawatu), 2 and 1. BRITISH OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. NEW YORK, Tuesday. J. H. Kirkwood, golf professional, will participate in the British open championship.
