RESCUED BY POLICE. NEW YORK, Tuesday. The police have rescued Mrs. Witherell, who was recently kidnapped. She was found imprisoned at a deserted ranch by two men who had a grudge against her husband. Both men were arrested. —Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn. (A message published on Saturday stated: Mrs. O. S. Withered, a beautiful woman of Los Angeles, 23 years old, has been stolen by men who called and said that, her husband had been injured in an automobile accident. She left her eighteen-montlis-old baby with a neighbour, and accompanied the men. Withered has since received a note demanding £IO,OOO ransom, and stating that all would be lost if the police were notified.)
