EXHIBITION BAND CONTEST.
LARGE NUMBER OF ENTRIES

AUCKLAND, Monday. Sixteen A grade and thirteen B ■grade bands have entered for the Exhibition brass bands contest, which is to be held from February 9th to 14th. There are 400 entries for solo events, and the total prize money will be £650. The following bands will compete: — A grade-'-Kaikorai, Westport, Auckland Garrison, Waihi, Invcrcargill, Dominion (Palmerston), Wellington Tramways, Invcrcargill Garrison, Auckland Regimental, Wellington City, Wanganui, Queen Alexandra (Gisborne), Woolston, St. Kilda, Timaru Regimental, Wanganui Garrison. B grade—Wellington Watersiders', Ljgjpod, Dargaville, Whangarei, Mar_PP Hamilton, Onehunga, Taranaki Rifles, Dannevirke, Napier, Hastings, Invcrcargill Hibernian, Hawera.
