BOROUGH COUNCIL
Meeting of Works Committee
The usual meeting of the Masterton Borough Council as a Works Committee of the whole, was held last evening. There were present:—His Worship the Mayor Mr .J. A. Renall', Crs E. McEwen, •>. C. Ewington, E. G. Eton, W. Morris, T. G. Hoar, I. W. Temple, J. Elliott and .1. 11. Pauling. An apology for absence was received from Cr E. Feist.
Mr F. G. Moore, Secretary of the Wairarapa District Hospital Board, requested payment of the first quarter's contribution to the funds of the Board-/•/':., maintenance .21 0s Id, infectious diseases X7G 1 Is. The
amounts were passed for payment
The Town Clerk was instructed to call for tenders for accident insurance in connection with the Borough employes, when the existing policies fall due.
Messrs Cossarand Woodward, contractors for construction of Colombo-road culvert, applied for extension of time for completion of contract, on the ground that delay had arisen in the arrival of the necessary ironbark timber from Australia.--The application
was granted
Mr George Smith forwarded a plan showing the sub-division of his property in Colombo-road and Johnston-street, and, in asking the Council's seal to be allixed. pointed out that the roads through the section were accepted by the Council about October 2nd, 1878, being shown on the various plans of the Borough.—The matter was referred to the Mayor and Town Clerk to search up past records.
