Speaking at the banquet to lion T. Y. Duncan, Minister of Lands, the. Premier, speaking of the Government's land settlement policy, said the owner of Carriedale had asked a price which the Government would not pay, but would acquire it if it could be secured at a fair price, lie also announced that the Government had made an offer for Otekaike Estate.
