People's Day.
{By Telegraph — Press Association.) Palmerston , North, This Day. More rain fell here last night and this morning, but a drying wind is clearing up the show grounds.
Great crowds of people have arrived, the trains being packed.
Yesterday's attendance was a record for a second day, and there is a promise of another record being scored to-day.
In draught horses J. Bremer, of Normanby, Taranaki, won the points prize, of £25, with 4-i points ; Gam man and Co., Palmerston North, second, 35 points.
Following are additional championships: English Leicester ram, Slack Bros., Palmerston; ewe, Perry Bros., Wairarapa. Southdowns, in wool, ewe and ram, J. Stuckey, Rangitumau ; shorn, ram, Mrs B. 11. Slack ; ewe, J. Knight.
The judging was finished this morning. The day is devoted to sightseeing and contests in the ring.
