These Worthies propose to organise a service of post-cats, and are at present engaged, by a series of ingenious.experiments, in testing pussy's capacities for delivering the mails. Select- '•' ingiLuik/for their' head-quarters;;, they thence despatch a number bleats, securely tied up in woollen bags, to the neighboring villages, where they are freed-jrom confinement and turned loose,, wit|§yj|t paokets of letters backs. At once, their domestic instincts come'intofull play, and they."Bwiif|ly;flao homewards with unswerving directness. Of thirty-seven cats 'thus conatcainad to serve their country, not oue has-hitherto failed fo fulfil .its postal function■ with excellent punctuality. It is feared, how* ever, that when, a double service shall be arranged, diffioulties;and delays may arise from the meeting of post-cats on the high road. If the feline postmen can be inspired with a high sense of duty, over-riding personal impulse, all will be well, ■ .Failing this, we apprehend that irregularities in delivering will take place.' 1 ■-
