A NUISANCE.
To the, Editor of tk Waiiubapa Daily. Sir lam not fond of printers' ink, but on this occasion I am obliged to write in sheer self-defence against an instance of neglect that may land the community in a very unenviable position.
Afew chains behind the English Church, and still less distance from t.he road going eastward, someone has had the misfortune to lose a cow or bullock, which has been dead something like ten days. No attempt whatever has been made to bury the carcase, and there, in an open paddock, the putrified mass lies, breathing disease and infection right into the heart of the township. You may imagine what penple living near it suffer when a gentle bn eze crosses their homesteads laden with the deadly stench.
I cannot describe the sensation one experiences. nov can I in words express the contempt that every man must feel for an individual who can thus, for the sake of half-a-crown, or an hour's work, put the health of his fellow-settlers and their families in peril. No names are mentioned, hoping that this may have the desired effect, If it does not, the individual alluded to will find himself the object of such attention that half- a-crown will scarcely disburse,— I am, Ac.,
