WAIRARAPA PASTORAL SOCIETY.

The Sub-Committee met at the Society's office on Monday, the 27th inst., Messrs W. Booth (chairman), DiUinmond, Boys, Nix, and Braithwaite being in attendance. The Secretary reported that the gentlemen nominated as judges had been communicated with, the following consenting to act: Hon Colonel Whitmore (cattle); Messrs D. Coutts and J. Stevens (draught horses), The following gentlemen were then nominated in the place of those unable to act; Mr A, T. Hill, instead of Mr J. Lyon (blood horses and collie dogs); Mr J. N. Williams,instead of Hon E, Gray,(sheep); Mr B. Boys, in lieu of Mr Gear, (pigs and poultry); Mr A. Elkius (other dogs than collies).

Letters having been received from prize takers at former shows applying for same, the Secretary was directed to write that the Committee , hoped to settle the claims at an early date. A letter was read from Mr F. H. Wood slating that Mr Angus McMaster had seen him and stated that he had not applied for the allocation of a debenture in his favor, but was willing to keep up his annual subscription,

A discussion ensued on an account of Mr Wakelin'a for advertising, after which the Secretary was directed to arrange for the sale by auction of the publicans' and refreshment booths for the show day, the auction to be advertised a week before sale and .the latter c week before the show. Pedlars and hawkers to be allowed on the ground so long as they did not interfere with sales in the booths, The date oi the show was directed to be advertised in the Wairarapa papers, the Evening Post, and the New Zealand Times.

Tne'Secretavy was instructed to pall for tenders for printing catalogues of show, to be in by the 3rd prox, The necessary arrangements for the completion of the fencing in of the ground were stated to have been made, and the work would be executed by the day of the show.

The proposition that application should be made to have special trains laid on on show day, was adjourned to the next meeting, which is fixed for the 3rd prox. The meeting then adjourned.
