BOXING.

SHARKEY v. STRIBLING

Per Press Association —Copyright

NEW YORK, February 2 6

A Miami message states that Sharkey and Stribling concluded training to-day. Both declared themselves fit and ready for to-morrow night’s bout. The men will probably enter the ring at 10 p.m. A report that Stribling had dislocated a rib and was suffering from neuritis in the arm was circulated yesterday, but it is declared, however, that he has fully recovered.

MIAMI, February 27

Stribling and Sharkey will fight to-night, ten rounds to a decision. Dempsey and Bill Carey, for the Madison Square authorities, who are jointly running the event, will make £15,000 to £20,000 profit on the total takings of £70,000. Sharkey has a slight advantage in weight and experience. His weight is 1921 b, and Stribling 1821 b. Probably this will be the one fight which IS absolutely on the level, for the winner stands a good chance to draw a million dollar gate against Dempsey himself, or the German Schmeling, some time during the summer, in New York.
