In the coutrs? ,of ;> the annual report it was stated that the seniors annexed the Publican's Cup in the Competition and also Hie 7-a:-’<& Challenge Cup and miniatures, this being the third year in succession. For the greater part of the season the juniors weie unable to field a full fifteen. The annual hall was well patronised and the success was due to the efforts of the Social Commit-

tee. The financial position showed an improvement on the la c t year, the amount to be carried forward being £6 2s Id as against £3 Ils Id in 1926 The report concluded by thanking members and supporters for their loyal support, especially those who placed themselves and their cars at the convenience of players.

The balance sheet showed that receipts for the year, including £3 Ils Id carried forward from 1925, to he £43 17s 7d, and the expenditure £37 15s 6d, leaving cash in hand £6 2s Id The report and balance-sheet, being considered satisfactory, were adopted.

The election of officers resulted: Patron, Dr. R. Shackleton; president, Mr R. Clear; vice-presidents, Messrs W. Lee, W. Stewart, P. V. Stevens, J. Trezise, E. d’Auvergne, G. Dash, Rev. Canon Cocks, G. Stewart, J. Dench, A. H. Bishop. E. Anderson, J. F. Rathgen, S. Malthus, W. Geddes. A. Hawke, W. Deacon, G. Barclay, J. Mcßae, 11. Allen and J. A. Powell; Club-captam Mr J. Dench; secretary, Mr D. Shaw; assistant secretary-, Mr W. E.

Cummings; selection committee, Messis R. Clear and J. Dench; delegates to Sub-Union, Messrs J. Dench and R. Clear; management committee, Messrs R. Clear, N. Manchester, W. E. Cummings, D. Shaw, and A. Stewart. The appointment of a coach was held over. The Sub-Union advised that there was a notice of motion to be put before- the annual meeting of the Sub Union that in place of the present executive of the Union, a management board be formed consisting of a president, three vice-presidents, a secretary, a treasurer, and six members. <

Air Stevens said the idea was to put the Sub-Union on a business like basis. At present the executive consisted of the president, three vice-presidents and a secretary. On the motion of Air H. Dash it. was resolved that the delegates be instructed to support the idea. Air W. Hayes was granted his clearance, on the application of the Ashburton Old Boys’ Chib.

The following new members were elected:—Messrs W. Bain, G. Goddes, C. Manchester, R, Fahey, D. Samways, A. Moore, W. Aliller, K. Giles, K. Wright. Spiers (2). E. H<>re, A. Contts and G. Sheldon.’ The subscription was fixed at 5s for seniors and 3s for juniors. On the suggestion of Mr Stevens, it was decided that each member he supplied with a ticket with the club colours and that bon. members’ tickets be 2/6 each.

It was decided to arrange a junior match with Northern Club for Easter Monday. ihe opening practice was arranged for the first Thursday after EasAlr Stevens complained of players paying 1/- at the gate, and suggested each player be supplied with a player s.tieket, which would entitle him to admission. The honesty of players could be relied ifton not to pass it on to their friends.

The chairman said the matter would be discussed at the annual meeting of the Sub-Unoin.
