RIFLE SHOOTING

WAIMATE D.R. CLUB. FINAL SHOOT OF SEASON. The Waimate Defence Rifle Club tired the final shoot of the season on Thursday when two shoots at 600 yards were fi-.cd. The ihampionship for the year was won by W Paterson, who defeated A. Keiniek ip an exciting finish by one point. The aggregate cup was won by A. Kernick who. by a good final shoot defeated C. Bennett by two points.

Several members of the Club will take part in the Otago Rifle Association’s meeting at Dunedin at Easter a%d. if they shoot 'up to form should 'rive a good account of themselves. The following are the results: —

Championship.-—Four best scores off rifle at 300, 500 and 600 yards: W. Paterson 544, A. Kernick 543, C. Bennett 537, C. Kibblewhite 532, SAlalthus W. Duckett 526.

Aggregate.—Best eight shots out of 12 (including handicap) : A. Kernick 739, C. Bennett 737. W. Paterson 736, S. Malthus 736, W. Duckett 723.
