Wanganui, June 7
At a public meeting held at Mangamatu it wa3 stated chat the damage done by the late flood nmounted to nearly £3,0C0 Several bridges were entire'y gone, while others were damaged ar.d reads blocked for ill vehicular traffic. It was resolved that as no rate which the local governing body had power to levy would have any appreciable effect in restoring the bridges and repairing the roads a deputation lay the matter before the Minister for Public Works and ask Government for assistance
