MR DONALD REID AND HIS CONSTITUENTS.

Dunedin, May 24.

Mr Reid addressed his Outram constituents last night, on the question of capital and labor. He warned his hearers of the injury which would result from attempting to treat capital unfairly. The following resolution was carried, there being only two dissentients :—": — " That this meeting; expresses its deep regret that Mr Reid should have seen fit to retire from political life; that he had the full confidence of the constituency, and especially of the Taieri, and while thanking him for his speech hoped that if it be possible, he may still continue to represent this constituency in the Assembly."
