ENGLISH SCHOOLBOY FLIES TO DOMINION FOR HIS HOLIDAYS
AUCKLAND, Last Night (PA).— After a 14,000-mile flight, across half tne world, 13-year-old John Culmer, a .Suffolk schoolboy, arrived at Auckland by flying-boat at 9.15 yesterday morning. He has come to spend Christmas with his mother, Mrs Peter Culmer.. and two sisters and a brother at Tr. Puke, 193 miles south of Auckland He will return early in the New Year Io resume his studies at Felix School, 1 Felixstowe. John was farewelled at London airport by his father, a shaving brush I manufacturer, of Woodbridge, Suffolk, on Wednesday evening. His return fare cost half the normal rate under I a seasonal airline concession to stu-, dents returning home during school holidays. The 8.0.A.C. gave this advantage to about 2090 other students ' going far afield, including Japan and South Africa, but John’s ho) day trip , was the longest in its records. i
