WAVEkLEY, Last Night (OC).— An inter-club cometition was held at the Waverley Swimimng Baths on Tuesday evening, when the Wanganui Central Swimming Club and Patea visited Waverley. As the handicapping was taken on last year's performances, many times were broken. Mr. S. Yoeman thanked the visiting clubs for coming, and he hoped the return visits would be made soon after the New Year. In a return match against the Waitotara Club,, the St. Francis Tennis Club lost to Waitotara by nine games to Waitotara’s 12. St. Francis players were Misses P. Hoskin, P. Clark, H. Bradley, M. Moskin, P. Bradley and Mrs. O. Smith; O. Bradley, B. Jeffries, L. Strauchan, M. Ford, N. Fowler and T. Thomasen. FIRE BRIGADE EUCHRE EVENING The wind-up evening of the Fire Brigade euchre parties was held on Tuesday evening. The euchre evenings have been a great success and the attendances each evening show their popularity. The winners of this week's euchre were: Men, R. Lynskey I, W. Morrison and S. Morrison (equal) 2. Ladies: Mrs. Heginbotham and Mrs. Anderson, equal, 1. Ladies' aggregate for the year: Mrs. Baskin 1, Mrs. W. Heginbotham and Mrs. W. Lynskey, equal, 2. Men’s aggregate, D. Clark 1, W. P. Wallace 2, Competition winners were Mr. W. P. Wallace, Mrs. F. Christensen, Miss V. Lynskey, and Mrs. W. Heginbotham.
