MARSHAL GRAZIANI RELEASED BY ITALIANS
LONDON, Aug. 31 (Recd. 6 p.m.)— Marshal Rodolfo Graziani, who was sentenced on May 39 this year to a term of 19 years’ imprisonment for treason and collaboration with the Nazis, has been released after serving only four months of his term. He had, however, been held in custody by the Americans for five years prior to being handed over to the Italians for trial. He has now been released under an amnesty granted for Holy Year.
Graziani is to be sued for damages by the Rome extreme left wing paper “Paese Sera,” which recently published an article about Graziani’s wife. Graziani a letter to the editor accusing hin r . of “base calumnies,” and saying he would like to spit in his f ace —Special NZPA Correspondent.
